There are lots of free resources for learning Perl 6. Probably the most central place is the Perl 6 community site , that has lot of other links.

The most active place to ask about Perl 6 is the #perl6 IRC channel
If you prefer mailing list then I'd recommend the perl6-users mailing list. Send an empty e-mail to perl6-users-subscribe@perl.org and follow the instructions. Also check out the archive of the Perl 6 users mailing list
